Our Core Values

1.) God is Supreme: When we come to God we must see Him as real, personally compassionate toward us, and the supreme authority. He is God and we are not!

2.) Mankind: Human beings are all created by God to enjoy intimacy with Him. Mankind in its own strength has no capacity for this relationship. Our purpose, while still on the earth, is to announce, persuade, and expose God's plan to bring mankind back into intimacy. Human beings have a freewill to choose to follow God and live or reject His leadership and perish.

3.) Focus: We at CFC must develop an atmosphere where the Christian membership of our church is nurtured in the Lord Jesus. At the same time, we must train our Christian membership that the purpose for our existence is to walk the unchurched people, in our individual sphere of influence, across the bridge to God that Jesus built. We are absolutely not called to build a kingdom out of CFC, but rather be a sign post to the Kingdom of God.

4). The Scriptures: We embrace the Bible, old and new testaments, as God's revealed word describing His character and covenants with humanity. We see the Bible as the ultimate standard used to judge human and spiritual experiences, and teachings. The practical application style of instruction at CFC is essential to our advancement as disciples of Christ. The Bible is the roadmap to knowing God, which is the destination.

5.) Prayer: All of life's victories are first won in the spiritual realm through prayer. Prayer is simply, yet profoundly, talking and listening to God. As Jesus only did what His father told Him to do, so we must first seek God's direction and then obey it, in order to have fulfillment. Prayer has 3 forms: a.) silent prayer from the heart, to the mind, directly to God. b.) verbally articulated prayer from the heart to the mind, to the mouth, directly to God. c.) Verbally inarticulate prayer from our spirit, by-passing the mind, directly to God.

6.) The Church is People: The church is never referred to as a building in the New Testament but rather an assembly of people called by God for a unique purpose. Strong, healthy relationships focused on the purpose of building bridges to a lost world are key to this life-giving organism. The local church is not held together by methodology or style, but rather a personal conviction on the part of its members to a corporate vision.

7.) The Body of Christ: Unity and cooperation with other local churches and ministries in our area is essential to the fulfillment of John 17:21. We believe that God's unique call to CFC is only for the purpose of fulfilling one component of the whole Body of Christ. We believe God reaches a city through His complete and diverse Church.

8.) Being Relevant: We will attempt to identify and address the real, day-to-day needs of those around us in our culture. We will use creative and relevant means to attract and address these issues within the context of today's culture.

9.) Every-Member Ministry: All Christians are called and gifted by God to be ministers to a needy world. God calls us to serve in ways that are consistent with the gifts, passions and talents He has placed within us. CFC leadership individuals are primarily called to lead by example, instruct by teaching and support God's people as they are released to do ministry.

10.) Children/Youth: The children and the youth that God places in our fellowship are precious. We believe God works effectively through children, youth as well as adults. The children and the youth will play a vital part in the ministry at CFC as agents to present the gospel through special programs. We will provide the same caliber of training to the children and the youth as to the adults. The role of the church is to support and not replace a parent's responsibility to steward their children's lives.

11.) Our Community: We at CFC see our community as the primary field we are called to. We will make considerable efforts to establish relationships between the ministry and the various community entities for the purpose of opening doors to more effective outreach. We will purpose to develop respectful relationships with city, school and business leaders with a listening ear to their concerns and needs.

12.) The Supernatural is Natural: At CFC we believe that gifts of the Holy Spirit, miracles, healing, signs and wonders are normal and necessary byproducts of the character of God. It is truly just God being God. The Lord does these works through His people to confirm the truth of His gospel. The public demonstration of these gifts is subject to the testing of the respective spirit by the elders and authorization of the demonstration must be subjected to the Sr. Pastor's leadership.

13.) Change Oriented: Change is normal, necessary, expected and on going as God unfolds His agenda for our generation. We are willing to keep growing to keep up with God so as to impact our ever changing culture with the never changing gospel of Jesus Christ. We must recognize that anything stagnant is dying and so continual pursuit of God's present direction is essential to CFC staying a life-giving entity. We will purpose to have a secure hold on our present ground before we move forward.

14.) Social Justice: We believe that Christians are called to faithfully care for the poor and needy in our communities and across the world. We will prayerfully respond to the needs of those around us and follow the directive we receive in that prayer time. We will also treat all individuals who come into our ministry with dignity and respect by defining our purpose and mission, helping to determine if they are called to CFC.

15.) Public Worship: We at CFC believe that the public display of worshiping God through song is a liberating and essential component to our ministry. Worship is composed of 3 aspects: a.) Singing about God. b.) Singing to God. c.) being ministered to by God through being in His presence during worship. A full spectrum of emotion is permissible with respect to the general flow of the Holy Spirit at the time.

16.) Facilities: The church is God's people and so the facility plays a minor role in our ability to do ministry. Our focus will be people-minded and not building-minded. The development of an edifice is of no value. We do however value keeping the tools for ministry sharp and so stewardship of facilities is essential to making the possibility of people inviting someone to join them higher.

17.) Giving and Receiving: At CFC we have learned of God's true desire to prosper His people spirit, soul and body. We encourage people to give their best to God of their time, talent and treasure in proportion to His blessing them. God does not need our gifts but they are our opportunity to be involved in God's plan to reach the world we live in.

18.) Priorities: Each person at CFC will be instructed to maintain proper Biblical priorities in order to avoid being consumed by work, church or selfishness. Below is our understanding of Biblical priorities.

1.) A Person's relationship with God

2.) A Person's relationship with their spouse, if applicable

3.) A Person's relationship with their family

4.) A Person's relationship with their church family and ministry

5.) A Person's health

6.) A Person's job

7.) All other life issues

19.) Church Growth: Our Heavenly Father is the only one who can draw an individual into a saving relationship with Himself but He has directed us to fulfill a part. The all encompassing directive for church growth at CFC, is the simple act of invitation.

20.) The Devil: Satan is a real entity with a desire to kill, steal and destroy in the lives of believers and unbelievers alike. When negative, destructive activity happens in our lives we look first to discern if Satan is responsible even before we search to see if God is teaching us through the scenario. If Satan is found to be culpable we use spiritual weapons to resist and destroy this spiritual power through Jesus Christ.
